Hollyland’s Pyro monitors are not ordinary monitors. Each one is a transmitter, receiver and monitor in a single unit. That is what makes them flexible — and it is also the most common mistake people make when ordering one.
Read this before you order: one unit is not a link
A single Pyro monitor is one end of a wireless link. To send a picture from the camera to a monitor you need two units, or one Pyro monitor paired with another Pyro-ecosystem device, such as the Pyro S or Pyro H kits. If you want a complete transmitter-and-receiver set in one box, those kits are often the simpler buy.
Ordering one Pyro 7 and expecting wireless video is like ordering one walkie-talkie.

Pyro 5: the on-camera all-rounder
The Pyro 5 - Wireless Transceiving Monitor is 5.5 inches and 0.56 kg, so it can live on the camera. Its 1500-nit screen is readable outdoors, it works on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz with automatic frequency hopping for crowded venues, and it adds camera control and RTMP streaming. A sensible way to build a Pyro system one unit at a time.
Pyro 5 4K: when the signal is 4K
For $449 — $30 more — the Pyro 5 4K - Wireless Transceiving Monitor takes and outputs 4K30, and Broadcast Mode feeds up to four receivers. It also adds proxy recording. If your camera outputs 4K and you want to keep it that way, this is the 5-inch to buy.
Pyro 5 4K - Wireless Transceiving Monitor — $449
4K30 in and out, 1 TX to 4 RX, camera control, proxy recording and RTMP.

The Pyro 7 - 7" Wireless Transceiving Monitor trades portability for a 7-inch screen — the difference between a monitor you work from and one you squint at. SDI and HDMI loopout pass the signal on to other gear, Dual-View switches monitoring quickly, and a 32GB SD card is in the box for recording. At just under 1 kg it belongs on a stand or a cart rather than on the camera.
Pyro 7 Ultra: when colour decisions are made on set
The Pyro 7 Ultra - Wireless Transceiving Monitor is where the money goes into the panel: a QD-LCD factory-calibrated to ΔE<1.5, so what you judge on set matches what you get in the grade. TWiFi transmission covers 1 km at 20 ms, one transmitter feeds unlimited receivers, and Focus Mode helps with precision pulling. It stays compatible with the rest of the Pyro ecosystem.
Pyro 7 Ultra - Wireless Transceiving Monitor — $1,399
Calibrated 7" QD-LCD, 1 km at 20 ms, unlimited receivers, Focus Mode.
